As the Official Partner of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Longines is proud to put its expertise in sports timekeeping to use in the realms of alpine skiing for the trials of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. In addition, the brand was delighted to time the stunning performances of its athletes: American skier Mikaela Shiffrin, as well as the members of the Longines Family, Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt, Loïc Meillard and France’s Clément Noël.Perfect start of the season for two of our athletes. On the first hand, the American prodigy, Mikaela Shiffrin claimed her 70th FIS Alpine Ski World Cup victory, and the first win of the season. On the other hand, Swiss brilliant skier Marco Odermatt won first victory of the season and the third of his career in Giant Slalom.On the occasion of 2021/2022 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup opening in Sölden, Austria, Longines presented the Official Watch of the season, a model from the Longines Spirit collection.Embodying the pioneering spirit that pushes athletes to constantly surpass their own limits in order to change the course of alpine skiing history, the Longines Spirit watch is made of stainless steel. In the 40 mm version, it measures time with three hands, while the 42 mm iteration also features a chronograph or date display. Fitted with a steel bracelet or dark brown, light brown or blue leather strap, it comes in three dial colours: matt black, grained silver and sunray blue.Longines, in keeping with its desire to promote the next generation of athletes, will again lend its support to the Longines Future Hahnenkamm Champions race, to be held in January in Kitzbühel on the eve of the legendary World Cup stage. The race is a team event in two legs for promising young skiers aged under 16 years old. It provides a platform for upcoming skiers to partake in alpine ski sport at a competitive level.Furthermore, the brand will award the Longines Rising Ski Stars prize, which goes to the top female skier under 21 and the top male skier under 23 during the FIS World Cup season. Winners will receive a Longines watch, a trophy and a cheque at the end of the season, which will wrap up in Courchevel-Méribel, France, in March 2022.

Although impacted by the global pandemic, the 2020/2021 FIS Alpine World Cup season saw some great performances from the world's best athletes, including members of the Longines Family.Longines would like to congratulate Marco Odermatt and Loïc Meillard, who finished second and fourth on the overall FIS World Cup ranking for 2020/2021, a worthy recognition of their talent. Marco has stepped up to the podium no less than ten times this season, with three of them being in the top spot (two victories in giant slalom and one in super-G). This flawless track record saw him finish second in the giant slalom ranking and second in the super-G ranking.Loïc Meillard ended his highly successful World Cup season with thirteen Top 5 positions, including second place in Kranjska Gora and third in Adelboden for the giant slalom.The most recent arrival to the Longines Family is Clément Noël from France, who finished the FIS World Cup season by standing on the second step of the podium in his specialist sport, slalom, a discipline that has already seen him bring home two victories this season in Kranjska Gora and Chamonix.%break%For the women's division, the Longines Ambassador of Elegance Mikaela Shiffrin finished in second place in the slalom and giant slalom category, after two victories in Flachau and Jasna for the slalom and one victory in Courchevel for the giant slalom.The FIS World Cup Finals are also an opportunity for Longines to showcase the White Circus' young talents by handing out the Longines Rising Ski Star award, a price that rewards the World Cup season's best young male skier (under 23) and best female skier (under 21). Longines Hahnenkamm Future Champions
The Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to time the 2020 edition of the Longines Future Hahnenkamm Champions race, held in the context of the legendary FIS Alpine World Cup leg in Kitzbühel. This year, Team Tirol claimed the coveted title, while Team Austria 2 and Team Austria 1 finished second and third respectively. As a recognition for the great performance, each member of the winning team received a Longines timepiece.In total, eight mixed teams of athletes aged under 16 years old took part in this event, comprising a giant slalom and a slalom race.
